The Yuri Kalinytsj mine park
People standing on the first lookout ring are observing the many exotic birds flying around in the Kalinytsj park.
Rewilding project
Yuri Kalinytsj (the architect of the park) was a bird lover and he designed the park to breed bird species that became extinct in the wild. The aim was to stimulate the growth of new populations of these vulnerable birds.
Many birds can still be seen in the Kalinytsj mine park. The cagou is one of the birds that could successfully recover in the park.
